Baghrir

Mami's Baghrir recipe.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup fine semolina
  • 1 cup self-raising flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp yeast
  • ¾ tsp salt
  • Pinch of sugar
  • 1 tsp vinegar
  • 2 cup warm water

Instructions

  1. Add all ingredients other than baking powder and vinegar in a bowl.
  2. Add 1.5 water, mix with a spoon, then blend with a hand blender.
  3. Add around 0.5 cup more warm water and blend again.
  4. Add baking powder and vinegar and blend again.
  5. Let rest for 20 minutes.
  6. Cook in dry frying pan and cover with lid when cooking. Don't flip.
  7. Coat in butter.
